SV-Wireless-Clientmode

(not finished)

As written by Sveasoft in the forum...
1. The client must have the same SSID as the AP
2. Set the client default gateway to the AP's IP address. Set the AP's default gateway to the Internet gateway address.

Note: problems have been encountered with multiple devices behind a WRT54G when it is in client mode. See http://www.sveasoft.com/modules/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=436&highlight=kismet for some comments on this. The problem may be due to MAC address magic that the WRT54G does when in client mode, magic that WET11 or WGA would normally only be doing for one network card, as those devices are meant to be plugged into only one ethernet device. When in non-client mode, the WRT54G may have multiple devices plugged into it on the switch ports, but while in client mode try using only one device plugged into the switch ports. (The switch ports are the 4 ports on the back of the WRT54G that are right next to each other.)

If you want to have multiple machines behind a WRT54G that is in client mode, it may be necessary to use a broadband router or another WRT54G in AP mode connected to it via a crossover cable.
