Bigpond Setup

Telstra Bigpond in Australia uses a unique software login package to connect and maintain a connection to the ISP. This package is required by residential customers using Cable connections. ADSL customers use a standard PPPoE client.

A linux based alternative called BPALogin was created some time ago. Latest versions of Linksys firmware include the BPALogin package. Some general Bigpond Login info can be found on the OzCableguy web site.

Heartbeat

The Bigpond heartbeat packet is a UDP based packet sent from specific login servers. The login servers are maintained at this website.
